2022年考博英语冠词的用法解析

　　一、基本用法

　　1、不定冠词“a, an”

　　当我们不知道它是诸多人或事中的哪一个时用不定冠词:

　　①许多中的一个：He is a writer.(there are many writers).

　　②不是惟一的：I have just bought a book.

　　③之前没有提到过: There was a new comer from abroad.

　　2、定冠词“the”

　　当我们知道它是诸多人或事中的哪一个时，用“the”:

　　①特指的：I had trouble with the car this morning.

　　②唯一性的：The Foreign Minister held talks with his American counterpart.

　　③之前提到过：John bought a TV set, but there was something wrong with the TV.

　　④要被接下来详细说明的：What is the new student's name?

　　⑤用于表示宇宙中独一无二的事物的名词前：the earth 地球 the sun 太阳

　　⑥用于某些由普通名词构成的专有名词前：the Great Wall 长城，the Silk Road 丝绸之路

　　⑦用于某些抽象名词、物质名词前：The younger generation is the hope of the nation. 年轻的一代是国家的希望。

　　⑧用于形容词前表示一类人：The wounded were brought to hospital. 受伤者被送到了医院。

　　⑨用于方位名词前或某些表示时间的词组或习语中：on the left 在左边;in the end 后来，终于

　　⑩用于形容词最高级及起特定作用的比较级前：It was the best day of my life. 这是我一生中最美好的一天。

　　3、零冠词

　　当我们普遍地提及事物的时候，无需用冠词：

　　①在使用复数或不可数名词时：Do you like sport?

　　②人名和地名的时候不用冠词，但是地名有许多例外：He is Professor Jones.

　　4、固定用法：有许多固定搭配需要用或者不用冠词，我们应该单独熟记。例如：

　　at home;at work ;at the beginning;at the end;in the world;once a week

　　二、写作中常见问题

　　It will improve student’s health.

　　这句话没有没问题?

　　有，根据语法，可数名词不能够单独出现，前面要有不定冠词或者定冠词，或者用作复数。所以句中的student’s不正确，要写成the student’s health 或者students’ health才对。

　　定冠词the的最根本的意思就是表达某种特定的意思，所以在the之后的名词就是“特定的那个”，而不定冠词后面的名词表示“任何一个”。例如：

　　An old man lived in a log house near a lake. One day, the old man left the house and went to the lake. There he found a deer lying on the ground. Slowly he approached the deer.

　　通常可数名词第一次出现，如无特定意义，都用不定冠词，所以第一句an old man表示任何人，但第二句就不能再用an old man ，必须写the old man，因为这个人是前述的同一个人，所以用定冠词来限定。同样的，a long house 第二次出现时，要变成the house，a lake 变成the lake，a deer变成the deer。
