　　Sit-in protest

　　On June 22, Democrats in the US House of Representatives staged a sit-in to demand a vote on gun control. Representative John Lewis, a civil rights icon, organized the protest in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida. Lewis and his colleagues attempted to *disrupt the House’s usual business, by sitting on the floor and shouting slogans like, “No bill, no break!” They refused to leave Congress for over 25 hours.

　　6月22日，美国民主党议员在众议院会议大厅静坐抗议，希望由共和党主导的众议院同意就控枪法案投票。民权代表人物、民主党众议员约翰·路易斯组织了这次静坐，抗议佛罗里达奥兰多枪击案中出现的控枪不力。路易斯和同事们希望通过静坐以及喊口号的方式，干扰下议院的日常程序。他们的口号包括“No bill, no break!(无法案，不休息)”。议员们的静坐抗议持续了超过25小时。

　　马上学：抗议除了静坐以外，还有hunger strike “绝食抗议”，strike “罢工”，protest march “抗议游行”等。
