　　主要从事生物材料与再生医学研究，重点研究大豆蛋白质、纤维素、壳聚糖、淀粉等天然高分子及其改性材料在神经组织工程、韧带组织工程和骨组织工程领域中的应用。已主持国家自然科学基金、国家留学基金委国外合作项目、湖北省自然科学基金、湖北省卫生厅科技人才基金、湖北省自然科学基金计划青年杰出人才等项目多项，合作参与国家863计划、国家自然科学基金重点项目等多项课题研究。发表SCI收录论文60余篇。主编专著1部，参编教材、专著4部。授权专利4项。

　　承担研究生《生物医学研究方法与前沿技术》、《纳米医学》和本科生《现代生物医学实验技术》等课程的教学。
