长期从事纳米摩擦学研究和纳米制造研究。曾担任两届973项目首席,国家自然科学基金创新群体负责人。曾获国家发明三等奖、国家自然科学二等奖、国家科技进步二等奖和省部级科技奖7项;2013年获美国STLE国际奖;在国际学术会议上做特邀报告20余次,其中Plenary和Keynote报告13次。出版英文专著1部,参编英文专著1部,翻译英文专著1部;发表和合作发表论文250余篇,SCI收录150余篇,他引2000余次;授权国家发明专利20余件。
